A Personal Note from Amy
I’m a math nut who was blessed to have found financial planning as a career. As a kid, I never worried about money because we never had any. When I started working, I honestly didn’t know what to do with my money. Then one day, I was home sick with the flu watching the Today show and this young, beautiful woman was giving some advice about saving for yourself first. She was Jean Chatzky, and I began to faithfully follow her and reading about everything she mentioned on her Today show visits. Then along came an opportunity at a small bank and trust company. Because I had been really digging into my own personal finances, I was particularly interested in the job. And that is how it all began.
Fast forward 20+ years and I get to be that person, albeit a lot less famous, who helps educate others on personal finance. The education side of my job is my greatest passion. I am also very active in our industry and in advocating for consumers through my charitable commitments at Cornell Cooperative Extension Steuben County, Faith in Action Steuben County, and Fund for Women of the Southern Tier.
